Medalta Clay Industries

Sweet Shot Tuesday
A few shots from Medalta Clay Industries in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Medalta Potteries was established in 1912 and its sturdy crocks, bowls, artware and hotel crockery were familiar household items cross the country.

Once threatened with demolition it is emerging as one of Canada’s foremost industrial museums and cultural centres dedicated to clay.

Our World Tuesday Graphic
Today, you can attend a pottery class, visit a Farmer's market and gift shop, enjoy browsing the extensive Art Gallery on site, and browse through a huge collection of original Medalta wares on site.

Inside the Museum, it is a Phtographers dream! Lots of opportunities for some awesome shots!

Outside is located three huge kilns, where today you can see some of the pottery that once was fired within.

A couple of the stamps on the sides of Medalta products.
